The trainees, who are interested in pursuing careers in the renewable energy industry, recently attended the Isle of Wight College to a ½ day Course with the following syllabus:
Accident Prevention
Accident Reporting
Emergency Procedures
Excavations and Confined Spaces
Fire Prevention
Health and Hygiene
Health and Safety at Work Regulations
Manual Handling
Noise and Vibration
Personal Protective Equipment
Safe Use of Vehicles
Candidates took their CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Assessment following the course. They were all successful in their completion of the health and safety test and are now applying for a CSCS card which is essential for work in the construction industry.
The next phase of the training programme will involve following installations of solar PV panels and air source heat pumps on site in Chale.
